Drying long-cut pasta (such as spaghetti) requires high amounts of energy. With the Ecothermatik long-cut pasta dryer, Buhler has developed a pioneering, new drying process that is extraordinarily energy-efficient while simultaneously producing top product quality. Thanks to an in-process heat recovery system, the required thermal energy can be reduced by 40 %. This lowers the operating costs and improves the environmental impact. At IPACK-IMA, Buhler is presenting the Ecothermatik for the first time in a high-performance design and with an innovative stick transport system for the production of up to 5500 kg of spaghetti per hour. The drying of pasta is a critical process, which also requires large amounts of energy. With the Ecothermatik long-cut pasta dryer, Buhler presented a new drying process for the first time in 2012, which not only retains the quality of the pasta, but also requires much less energy. "In response to the rising demands of our customers with regard to processing volumes, energy efficiency and production reliability, Buhler is now also offering this production system in a high-performance design for capacities between 3500 and 5500 kg per hour", explains Dr. Andreas Kratzer, Head of Business Unit Pasta & Noodles at Buehler.
