EBSCO Health New App for Nursing Reference Center Plus

Following last year's release of Nursing Reference Center Plus (NRC Plus), an information resource for nurses, EBSCO Health has unveiled a new app designed to help nurses take advantage of their institution's subscription to NRC Plus by making journal articles, care summaries, continuing education, and more available on mobile devices. NRC Plus and its sister database, Nursing Reference Center (NRC), originally shared an app, says June Levy, VP of CINAHL Information Systems, a division of EBSCO. But with the availability of newer technology, EBSCO created an app designed solely for NRC Plus, which boasts video, images, and topics of leadership and management that NRC does not. Levy says the nursing information resource was designed by nurses for nurses, and the app was a collaborative effort as well. "We reached out to users on a small scale to garner feedback on desired features and functionality and conducted market research to help inform the design of the app," she says. "There is currently a more in-depth user research project underway involving nurses and hospitals for all EBSCO Health nursing products and those findings will be incorporated in future versions."
