摘要

In this clearly written and engaging work, David Gauntlett does not focus on the 'quality' (or lack thereof) of amateur creations or on the extent to which they represent a threat (or opportunity) to the mainstream media. Instead, he suggests that it is intrinsically important that 'ordinary' members of the public have the opportunity to express themselves creatively and to share such creations with others.
