When Joaquin B. Viso founded MOVA Pharmaceutical Corporation in 1986, the business premise was simple: Large drug companies, already burdened by heavy research and development costs, would welcome the help of a contract manufacturer to bring their products to market without making major plant investments. With 17 years of previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, Viso knew how to run a plant. The problem was finding a home. His first step was the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO).
