Troy Belting & Supply Co. was established in 1862, the same year President Lincoln authorized the start of the Civil War. It was known then as the Leroy Pine Co. Recognized as a manufacturer of leather belting and a distributor of general and industrial tools, Troy contributed to the industrial growth of the Northeast. Troy Belting was incorporated on June 25, 1895.rnIn 1922, Ray L. Smith was hired as the company errand boy. Over the years, he worked his way into sales and management, developing and expanding the business and becoming a shareholder in 1945.
