Textiles India 2017- A mega show of prospects

Inaugurating the Textiles India 2017, India's first ever mega textiles trade fair, held from June 30 to July 2, 2017, at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi intoned the initiatives and commitments of the government for development with the new self-coined mantras of Make in India, 'skill, scale, speed' & 'zero-defect, zero-effect' being infused in the textile industry. He pointed out the abundant supply of raw material like cotton, jute, silk and man-made fibre that India has, in addition to the strong spinning, weaving, knitting and apparel manufacturing capacities, and young, skilled labour available at a reasonable cost.
