Effect of pressure between roller and knife edge on the quality of double roller ginned cottons

A double roller gin was set to work at three different pressures (67, 133 and 200 kg) between the rollers and the fixed knife edges to process ten varieties of cotton, and the effect of pressure on various quality parameters of ginned lint studied. It is observed that the higher pressures decrease the average fibre length and increase the ginning percentage, short fibre Content, nep count and seed coat fragments.
