[Class 120 (i).] In a double-roller Macarthy gin each moving knife C, Fig. 1, is mounted on arms 3, 31 at each end of the beater shaft A, the arms being angularly adjustable with respect to the shaft A to permit separate adjustment of each knife. The knives C are secured to stiffening bars 1 bolted in sockets 2 in the arms 3, 31 which are adjustably bolted to endplates comprising collars 5 having flanges 6, and keyed at 4 to the shaft A, Fig. 3. The flanges 6 are provided with elongated holes 7, similar holes being formed in the arms 3, 31 to provide the angular adjustment. The moving grids Dare bolted to lugs 12 on the collars 5. An additional grid G, G1 is provided over the knives and beater shaft to support the weight of raw cotton in the hopper. The grid may be formed as a single grid secured to the beater shaft A or as two separate grids secured to the bars 1 or the beater shaft A.
