The AAMI Foundation's National Coalition for Infusion Therapy Safety shined a spotlight on a top safety hazard with infusion technology: medication errors related to multiple-line infusions. Some patients receive dozens of intravenous (Ⅳ) infusions simultaneously, making it confusing for clinicians to distinguish the many sets of infusion tubing.
