An integrated zero current switching (ZCS) quasiresonant convertern(QRC) for the power factor correction with a single switch is presentednin this paper. The power factor correction can be achieved by thendiscontinuous conduction mode (DCM) operation of an input current. Thenproposed converter offers good power factor, low level line currentnharmonics, and tight output regulation. The design equations arensuggested and a prototype converter has been designed based on thesenequations and experimentally investigated. The input current waveform ofnthe prototype shows less than 15% of total harmonic distortion. Also,nthe efficiency and power factor of about 84% and 0.977, respectively,ncan be obtained under the rated condition
