Power System Operator Training: Curriculum Design and Development

摘要

A curriculum for training system operators must include the fundamentals of power systems and their operation plus specific application of these fundamentals to their own system with its own particular constraints of network topology, controls, operating procedures, and contractual arrangements. Each training module must contain the necessary background, specifics of the job, practice exercises, and testing. All except the fundamentals of power system operations will be an individual task for the utility because of its topology, organization, equipment, and practices. An approach for curriculum design and development is presented which includes consideration of the education and experience level of the operator. A sample course outline is discussed along with early experience in teaching it.
