SET for Europe: discovering tomorrow's challenge

摘要

The multinational and EEC programmes like ESPRIT and Eureka are considered with a view to developing the future patterns of European research and the significance of science, education and technology. The position of the IEE is considered in the wider role of Europe, and recommendations are proposed to support members by considering new services for open learning programmes which could be available to all centres of further education to assist in both core and specialist courses together with the establishment of an active demonstration information centre which would extend the open learning facility and provide a further facility to the membership. It is generally concluded that training and multicollaborative research programmes will be the major developments to resolve after 1992, and the IEE Science Education & Technology Division will continue to have a significant role in these activities.
