A helping hand from the IEE

This has been a pioneering year for the IEE Benevolent Fund. It has been the first full year the Fund has operated under its new governance and management structure following a restructuring to allow a more focused level of attention and direction to its activities from a smaller body of Trustees. This has been achieved with some success. The Trustees have undertaken a major review of the management and operating systems. Additional measures have been implemented to increase the Fund's effectiveness and its ability to monitor and control risks, and the Board is now looking forward to future issues and challenges which will have a wider impact on the Fund. These include the potential for more demand with an increasing IEE membership with the introduction of new membership categories; more support for people when they reach pension age due to reducing pension provision and, perhaps more immediately, the increasing need for nursing and home care.
