The Holy Grail of electric vehicle advocates has long been a plug-in or pure battery-powered vehicle that can be fueled directly from the utility grid. Now researchers at Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) are promoting just the opposite: A solution where EVs or HEVs can be used to power homes or businesses.
