We purchased a special chair for a disabled employee as an ADA accommodation. The chair is so spiffy and comfortable that other employeees have been asking for the same thing. We can't afford to give everybody this item, which cost about $500. What do we tell people? Tell them that you're sorry, they're not eligible for this chair right now. Do NOT tell them why you bought it for the disabled employee. You'd risk violating the confidentiality of the disabled person's medical information if you did. And don't feel as if you have to make excuses. The law doesn't require you to accommodate employees who aren't disabled. Recently we started an exciting new project. Some of the hourly workers are so gung-ho that they're getting to work way before their scheduled time. Do we have to do anything about this?
