For almost 25 years the historic tax credit has encouraged and facilitated the rehabilitation of former churches, industrial and factory buildings, hotels, department stores, and other historic buildings for commercial and residen- tial purposes. Today, however, the field is undergoing rapid change with developments ranging from LEED standards to the New Markets tax credit's revolutionizing of the way historic buildings are rehabilitated.
