Guidance Provided on Allocation of Calendar 2005 Administrative Fees

HUD has provided guidance to PHAs on the allocation of the additional calendar 2005 administrative fees available for the Section 8 tenant-based voucher program. Congress appropriated $25 million in additional funding, which was reduced to $24.8 million by a 0.8 percent across-the-board rescission. HUD Notice PIH 2005-18 (HA), issued June 15, provides information on the allocation of the funds, which will generally be distributed on a first-in, first-funded basis. About $20 million will be provided for ongoing administrative fees for relocation/replacement vouchers for demolished public housing units and housing conversion vouchers awarded in calendar 2005, and a special onetime fee of $250 per unit for occupied units covered by calendar 2005 conversion actions.
