摘要

The U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland ruled that a plaintiff bringing a housing accessibility suit against a real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns 300 complexes was not required to sever the complaint into 300 separate complaints. (The Equal Rights Center ν. Equity Residential, CIV. No. AMD 06-1060, 2007 WL 1111451 (D. Md.), April 13, 2007). The Equal Rights Center (ERC), a Washington, D.C.-based fair housing advocacy organization, brought an action against Equity Residential, a REIT organized under the laws of Maryland, and ER Operating Limited Partnership, which Equity Residential owned and controlled.
