State Agencies Have Committed Almost 97 Percent of TCAP Funds

State housing credit agencies have committed 96.77 percent of their low-income housing tax credit assistance program (TCAP) funds and disbursed 49.66 percent of the money, according to HUD's latest program report. As of October 17, housing agencies have committed $2,177 billion of the $2.25 billion allocated under TCAP, and they have disbursed $1,117 billion. Thirty states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have committed all of their TCAP funds. Of the remaining 20 states, Oregon and Wisconsin have commitment levels above 99 percent, and only five states are below 90 percent: Colorado, 86.25 percent; Iowa, 84.21; Maine, 75.96; Pennsylvania, 85.54; and Vermont, 87.23.
