The Urban Land Institute has released a study stating that Californians' housing preferences are changing and that this trend could result in a dramatic mismatch between consumer demand and housing supply in the future. The New California Dream: How Demographic and Economic Changes May Shape the Housing Market was written by ULI member and urban planner Arthur C. Nelson, director of the Metropolitan Research Center at the University of Utah. The study was funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. It analyzes demand and supply in areas served by the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, the San Diego Association of Governments, and the Southern California Association of Governments.
