Top of bed notched another year of incremental growth in 2015, with sales up 2.1% to $5 billion. Multi-piece ensembles constitute the biggest segment of the top of bed business, although quilts continue to show staying power. The number of pieces the ensembles contain is paring down. Bed skirts and window accessories are among the chief items getting booted out of the bag. "We rarely include them in the packaged ensemble," said Rich Roman, president and ceo, Revman International. "Although bed in the bags still have many pieces, I think the consumer is getting wise that things like tie backs aren't really that important."
