The ninth annual edition attracted a total of 54 products including 39 solid-state luminaires as well as replacement bulbs and controls. It is organized by the American Lighting Association (ALA), the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), and new partner, Underwriters Laboratories (UL). In addition, 20 energy efficiency organizations in the US and Canada support the competition. Nine judges culled from lighting-related fields including builders, retailers, and designers reviewed the qualified submissions and winners were announced during the ALA's annual Conference in September.
