I was most interested in the review by Steve Harris of the Cambridge Audio Azur 840E/840W pre/power amps in your August issue. However, I was a bit disturbed to read of the hum problem with the first sample of the 840W and even more concerned to read that the while the second sample was 'better in this respect' the hum had not disappeared entirely. Gone are the good old days when one could contact a manufacturer directly so I had to contact Cambridge via e-mail. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive a reply.
