Since its inception, Munich's High End event has claimed the title of 'Europe's best hi-fi show'. But make no mistake: it's just what the name says: a high-end show. So dominant was audio over video that it was almost like turning the clock back. For many, that's bliss. Not that it was not bereft of 21 st Century tchatchkes: the second most-popular genre for new launches was hard-drive servers, from Nairn, T+A, Arcus, Sooloos and others. But the best-represented product type for the hottest launches? Turntables, arms and cartridges!
