LAB REPORT: AKG K3003i

Compared to even the most sensitive of over-ear headphones, the K3003i earphones are exceptionally sensitive, delivering a deafening 126.4dB SPL at the eardrum for a mere 1Vrms input at 1 kHz. This will allow high replay levels to be achieved with any source device but in some instances may mean that the usable range is restricted to an awkwardly small arc of the volume control. In part this high sensitivity is achieved through the K3003i's low impedance, which is just 7.2ohm at low frequencies, rising to 14.7ohm at 20kHz.
