It was clear to all those who attended that the 2011 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver, Colorado, was a return to the glorious shows of the past. The vibe, the presentations (including performances by bass virtuoso Dean Peer and audiophile darling Lori Lieberman)... it was, like Milan and Paris in the weeks before, a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak landscape.No, my glass is not half-full, but there was something reassuring about RMAF. It hosted a number of important launches, it was resolutely high-end yet tolerant of multichannel and AV, and it was oddly forward thinking: even crusty dinosaurs with 2W SETs were brandishing iPads.
