As a small contribution to the furtherance of Ken Kessler's education in our strange European ways, please tell him that the 'W' in Auto-Tech's Uniwersum speaker system [see HFN Jul '16] is not 'Teutonic'. There is no 'V' in the Polish alphabet; they use 'W' instead and pronounce it like 'V'. The nearest the Polish get to a 'W' sound is the 'L' with a slash through it. The speaker system itself is more reminiscent of the old-fashioned idea of what Scandinavian raiders wore on their heads, so perhaps he could have called it Viking (or Wiking, if you like).
