Top data security tips for healthcare orgs

Data breaches in healthcare are growing, insider negligence is the root cause and mobile devices pose extensive threats to patients' protected health information (PHI). Those are some of the key findings from the "Third Annual Benchmark Study on Patient Privacy & Data Security" conducted by the Ponemon Institute and sponsored by ID Experts. The research was published December 2012. Despite the fact that 94 percent of the 80 healthcare organizations surveyed in the study suffered data breaches, these events don't have to be disastrous. Pre- and post-breach processes can be initiated and coordinated to better protect patient data and minimize impact.
