National Inventory of Dioxin Emissions in 1987, 1995, and 2000

EPA has developed a comprehensive national inventory and overview of sources and environmental releases of dioxin-like compounds emitted to the circulating environment. Three study-years were inventoried and the results were released in November 2006 in a report titled "An Inventory of Sources and Environmental Releases of Dioxin-Like Compounds in the United States for the Years 1987,1995, and 2000." The purpose of this report is to: 1. Identify the sources releasing dioxin-like compounds, 2. Estimate the release of dioxin-like compounds to the open environment, and 3. Provide a reliable basis for observing trends.
