Aktuelle Marktstellung und Entwicklungstendenzen bei Biotricklingfiltern zur Abluftbehandlung

About 10 to 15% of all industrial waste air applications and all emissions sources of animal husbandries are adapted for biological waste air treatment at economic and ecological friendly conditions. In reality, these techniques are actually installed in only 1% and 0.4% of these potential applications. Restrictions in efficiency, crude gas levels, bioavailability, transformation kinetics, degradability of complex waste gas mixtures, a high demand in space and high pressure losses proved to be the main barriers for commercialization. Various new package materials presented here were developed to combine well known advantages of the biotrickling filters' package materials with those of biofiltration. In case of waste air emissions dominated by lipophilic or xenobiotic compounds, combinations of non-biological and biological or different biological processes revealed high economic and ecologic efficiency.
