Over the past 10 years, the issue of security in the transport chain has become an important topic. Operators are now required to have policies and procedures in place to ensure their assets are protected from misuse by people who would seek to use dangerous goods to carry out terrorist attacks and a whole system has developed to ensure that personnel are properly trained and that security plans are effective.
