With an ever-lengthening list of dangerous goods to take care of, the UN transport experts do a decent job of getting to grips with arcane technologies. The last meeting of 2010 was no exception, but (yet) more work will be required before the lithium battery provisions are finished The 38th session of the UN Sub-committee of Experts on the transport of dangerous goods (TDG) took place in Geneva this past November 29 to December 7. The meeting was the fourth and last of the 2009/10 regulatory biennium and the last chance to accept amendments to the UN Recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods - the 'model regulations' - ahead of the publication of the 17th revised edition this year.
