The UN Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) last month published a Common Regulatory Framework for equipment used in environments with an explosive atmosphere. The aim of the document is to spread the message about workplace safety, particularly to developing countries, and to offer a blueprint for legislation. Those countries that already have national legislation are invited to converge towards this international model.
