Within little more than a month following the introduction of the UK's Petroleum Driver Passport (PDP) scheme, 18 organisations had been approved to deliver PDP training and assessment and a further 21 were in the process of being approved. Of those 39 in total, 70 per cent were ADR training centres, showing the direct link between ADR and PDP training. The way the PDP scheme is arranged allows those companies employing tanker drivers to source PDP and ADR classroom training from an external supplier but to carry out the annual PDP practical assessment in house using their own driver assessors.
