Casa delos Tamices is located in Gampana, a medium-sized, orthogonally gridded industrial city on the shore of the Parana de las Palmas River, 100 kilometers from Buenos Aires. The project occupies a south-facing regular plot with a garden at the back and is situated close to the city's main street. A former movie theater rises above the fabric as a point of reference and adjoins the back of the plot, offering a twelve-meter wall for the back garden's climbing plants. In front, a series of brick "sieves" soften the entering light and breeze, and partially block the sights and sounds from the street. The sieves rise to level of the roof, configuring the boundary of the front courtyard and establishing a balanced scalar relationship to the theater at the back.
