Introduction

The IFIP TC8/WG8.3 working conferences present the latest innovations and achievements of academic communities on Decision Support Systems. These advances include theory, systems, computer-aided methods, algorithms, techniques and applications related to supporting decision making. The 2008 conference-CDM2008-was dedicated to the Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) theme, which is positioned at the intersection of several disciplines such as information systems, operational research, management science, organizational theory, and artificial intelligence. Papers presented at CDM2008 focused on research in Decision Support Systems with special emphasis on supporting groups and individuals requiring communication, negotiation, and agreement.
