The trend toward smaller, more compact machinery has its counter in large-format systems, which at Drupa included sheetfed and web presses, wide- and grand-format imagers, VLF platesetters, and the massive Processor II E, an in-line screen UV printing press demonstrated in Hall 3 by M&R Sales and Service, Glen Ellyn, Ill., which featured a maximum frame size 15 feet long and nearly 7 ft wide. In general, big sizes both satisfy demand for oversize products, such as posters, and capture productivity advantages of larger sheets.
