This collection of essays on the best ways to achieve sustainable development goals in institutional settings, was born from recognizing the difficulties of large international organizations, committed to sustainable development, in achieving the desired outcomes. The researchers at the United Nations University recognized that in order to advance in areas relating to global environments, organizations need not only scientific information, but institutional policies and framework that can help promote these goals. The essays in this volume address different ways in which institutions can improve or change their internal governance mechanism in order to achieve the common goals on sustainable development.
