Aqua America to acquire New York Water Service

The Pennsylvania company - the largest publicly traded US water utility - announced May 16 its intention to buy New York Water Service for $28 million. New York Water Service, part of Utilities & Industries Corporation, serves 135,000 residents of eight Long Island communities in Nassau County.
