Call for Papers: Special Issue of the German Economic Review on The Economics of Crime Guest Editors

Since Becker's seminal work on the economics of crime and punishment, a large empirical research literature has developed to learn more about how criminal behaviour responds to changes in the costs and benefits of crime. Improvements in data availability and use of new research designs have allowed for exciting new research on topics as varied as the effects of abortion legislation or movie violence on crime, the role of social interactions and criminal networks, and the effectiveness of public-private co-production of crime control.
