The authors have made a useful contribution bynemphasizing the effects of monofilament extensiblenfibres on the stress–strain–strength behaviour of micro-nreinforced sands, a material category of interest in thenpresent geotechnical domain. However, the discussersnwould like to present experimental and conceptualnarguments contrary to the authors’ conclusion that thenvery thin and long monofilament polypropylene fibresnhave reduced effectiveness. Some clarifications wouldnbe beneficial.
