The sanding block (10) has a grinding surface (12) with an adjustable grinding surface geometry (14), where a flexible fluid pressure cushion unit (16) is provided for the adjustment of the grinding surface geometry. The grinding surface geometry is continuously adjustable from a concave over a level to a convex grinding surface geometry by an adjustment of an internal pressure of the fluid pressure cushion unit. The fluid pressure cushion unit is provided to receive a gaseous pressure medium (18).
