摘要

The objective of the Tempest project was to evaluate the industry's ability to correctly image deepwater GOM subsalt structures, using both the exact and a developed velocity model. This was achieved by creating a realistic GOM Earth model and using it as a basis for generating synthetic seismic data. Depth-imaging results enabled the comparison ofrndifferent depth-migration algorithms as well as various acquisition setups, highlighting their positive and negative attributes and, importantly, how they complement each other.
