The socio-spatial fragmentation of higher education: Some unexpected consequences of internationalisation

There has been a notable and exciting surge in interest in the geographies of education, from both within and beyond the discipline (e.g. Brooks et al., 2012; Collins and Coleman, 2008; Epstein et al., 2007; Gould, 2000; Hanson Thiem, 2008; Holloway et al., 2010, 2011; Hopkins, 2006; Jons, 2009; Kraftl, 2006; Robertson, 2005; Smith, 2009; Waters, 2012). In this editorial, 1 want to focus on the research that is emerging around international (higher) education.
