Print Staffing in 2014 and Beyond

Like all industries, printing continuously evolves. In an industry whose bread and butter is the printed word, the new digital economy-coupled with a prolonged economic downturn-has created sweeping changes. In fact, many observers declared the age of print over (One ironic Onion headline decried: "Print Dead at 1,803").However, instead of its decline, I would argue we are witnessing printing's largest transformation in a generation. From strippers to digital prepress to augmented reality and variable-data the industry has morphed from a craft/trade to an increasingly technology-sector industry with a growing number of knowledge workers vs. trade workers.
