Local stability conditions for time-delay T-S fuzzy systems are proposed by use of a homogeneous polynomial approach. Lesser conservatism can be expected based on the derived stability criteria due to the following three factors: a) a new fuzzy Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed, which contains a homogeneous polynomially parameter-dependent matrix of degree 2; b) the off-diagonal matrix in Reciprocal Convexity lemma is extended to a homogeneous polynomially parameter-dependent matrix; and c) local stability conditions for time-delay T-S fuzzy systems are proposed to overcome the difficulty of dealing with the time derivative of membership functions. Finally, two numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
