All properties of fused/registered foundations have been administered by General Directorate of Foundations (GDF), which is under the authority of the Prime Ministry in Turkey, based on a law numbered 5737. GDF has represented and administered nearly 42000 fused foundations and their 80000 parcel-based immovable properties. So, it is seen that GDF is an important institution for the Turkish land market. Both the protection and development of foun-dational properties have been administered by GDF via its technical staff, primarily geomatics engineers, civil engineers, city planners, and architects. At this point, it is thought that investigating institutional and occupational improvement of GDF technical staffs and determining their needs are an important issue for current implementations. This study aims at determining the institutional and occupational improvements of GDF technical staff by using a case study method. Moreover, this article took advantage of an online questionnaire, which was tested with regard to validity and reliability, and a semi-structured interview form that served as data collection tool. The questionnaire form that was developed in this study was filled online by 68 GDF technical staff. In addition to this, 10 geomatics engineers among the staff were interviewed with a semi-structured interview form on the phone. Finally, this article will conclude with suggestions regarding the institutional and occupational development of the GDF technical staff.
