Ghana has 28 banks serving corporate clients and middle-income consumers, while also reaching the estimated 60% of Ghanaians who don't have bank accounts. UniBank, a wholly owned Ghanaian institution, is focusing on simplifying accessibility to loans for small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) by opening branches throughout rural regions, as well as providing microfinance facilities through sister institution uniCredit.
