Back extension strength improvement due to insoles is influenced by foot alignment

To date, most of the research on corrective insoles has focused on shifting and lowering knee joint loading (Jones et al., 2013; Sawada et al., 2016). Perhaps insoles have not received much attention from researchers as an effective tool to improve sports performance. Nowadays, there are many types of insole on the market claiming some effectiveness for improving sports performance. However, the effectiveness of insoles on sports performance is still very trivial and there is no clear evidence supporting the novel functionalities of insoles on some aspects of sports performances except for a few studies had examined minor effect on sustainable balance (Hamlyn, Docherty, & Klossner, 2012). It can be postulated that some types of insoles may have a clear positive effect on more demanding aspects of human performance such as maximal force exertion, if these insoles have actual functionalities. However, no attempts have been made to examine the effect of insoles on human maximal force exertion.
