Landlord and tyre company fined £43,000 for dangerous platform lift

Birmingham tyre firm and its landlord have been fined a total of £43,333 after pleading guilty to breaching healthand safety legislation.Birmingham City Council brought the prosecution following a routine inspection on 14 February 2019, where a largeplatform lift at Blue Tyres Birmingham Limited was found to be dangerous with a safety gate missing and a safetyinterlock and mains control panel bypassed, resulting in a Prohibition Notice.
